Bet types: single, accumulator, handicap, over/under
The type of bet decides two things at once: how likely your slip is to win, and how much of the bookmaker margin you pay. Many people choose a bet type for the big-looking odds, yet big odds nearly always mean multiplied risk as well. Here are the most common types, seen from your balance.

One selection, one outcome, one margin paid. Singles are the easiest to budget: you know exactly what is at stake and what can come back.
Accumulator (parlay)
Several selections combined, odds multiplied, and every selection must win. The catch is that the bookmaker margin multiplies too. A worked example: four selections each carrying about five per cent margin give a combined margin well above five per cent. If one leg is voided, the accumulator is usually recalculated without it — check the operator's rules.
System bets
A system bet splits several selections into many small accumulators. You can still collect something if one leg fails, but the total stake is multiplied by the number of combinations. Check the total deducted from your balance on the slip before confirming.
Handicap and over/under
A handicap gives one side a virtual advantage to balance a match; over/under judges total goals, points or games against a line. Half lines remove the push, whole lines can return the stake, and quarter lines split it in two. Pushes and half-wins are credited to your balance after settlement.
Bet types and bonuses
Betting promotions often set minimum odds per selection or a minimum number of legs for a bet to count towards wagering. System bets and cashed-out bets sometimes do not count at all. Reading these rules before using bonus money prevents wagering that never moves; see the wagering guide.
Cash out by bet type
Cash out is offered on some singles and accumulators and rarely on system bets. Its value comes from current odds and already includes margin. On an accumulator it often appears when one leg remains; accepting it swaps the chance of the full return for a smaller certain amount. There is no universal right answer, but the decision should come from your budget rather than last-minute nerves.
